Fishing report January 2026

The team have been busy getting the lodge and river ready to welcome guests for 2026.

The opening day of the season of the year coincided with a warm spell and subsequent thaw of the snowy catchment. Flood water quickly covered the flat land surrounding the river, leaving some livestock stranded and subsequently rescued. Tales of salmon seen jumping on the road and motorhomes navigating through the fields in the dark concluded this weeks folklore.
